Sharks are a great target on fly. Some sharks are easily targeted and some are not. Also some sharks fight hard while others simply wallow around on the bottom. My favorite shark to target on any tackle is the Bonnethead. Bonnetheads love shallow water and once hooked give an awesome fight. On any given low tide they can be found cruising the shallows with their fins out searching for a meal. This is when they are perfect targets for a fly angler. the great thing about Bonnethead is that they are not spooked easily by the boat or by bad casts. This makes them perfect targets for a beginner caster. They often will swim up to the boat to investigate and a very short cast is often rewarded by a hookup and a long run into the backing. For experienced anglers their fight alone make them a worthy target.
