There is no other fishery on earth like Southern Louisiana. The nutrient rich Mississippi River dumps into the coastal marshes and creates a fishery so full of both predators and prey that it must be experienced to be believed. Redfish are the name of the game in Louisiana. This area is not only know for quantity of fish but also for the size. Bull redfish up to forty pounds flood into the marsh and feed aggressively on almost anything you can put in front of them. By far the best time to be in Louisiana is the fall. My favorite time to be in the marsh is the last week of August thru November. The temperature is cooling down, the water is getting cleaner, and the reds are there in mass.
